Thanks for your kind words about Agnes Rosebud. She will be greatly missed.
No, we don't have chickens yet. I honestly hope that we don't have our new family members move in till after Birdsong, I am swamped with getting ready for that. Adding another daily chore wouldn't be much help right now. All this prep work for Birdsong has been good for me, with Agnes Rosebud gone, I've wanted to keep busy.
But I'm not ready to take on new pets after losing her.
I've also been playing this game.
These are pictures that Beth took of our Drawsomething matches. I'm not a game person and don't even know what an Angry Bird game looks like and never will.
But I enjoy the word scramble in the Sunday paper and love to draw. So, when the Other Karla and Beth told me to try this app, I gave it a shot and got hooked immediately.
You draw with your fingertip right on the screen, and then you can watch your drawing as it loads on the other person's screen and follow them trying to solve the puzzle.
The drawings disappear fast as a blink of the eye as soon as you finish the puzzle, but Beth (who solves them all fast as lightening) discovered that if you fill in all the blanks but one, you can take your time and watch the picture develop and even take a photo of it.
If you have trouble guessing the word, you can use your points to take away extra letters that try to confuse you. That is, if you have plenty of points. Sugarwings likes to use my points to buy extra colors to draw with. We own all the color palettes now, but no letter bombs to help solve clues.
Some are a challenge. Like this one. Can you guess it?
And its not that easy to draw with a fingertip, but I sure have fun trying.

As addictive as this game is, and as much as I want to play it right now, please forgive me if I don't jump in and do dozens of back and forth games right away, because I am desperately trying to restrain myself and get ready for Birdsong instead. I don't think my guests will appreciate a studio knee deep in junk and no place to sit while I doodle on my ipad.
But, I would like to get some more partners to play with, and if you'll request a game with me online, I can play one, then keep the info and play more with you after I get everything ready around here.
Although.... there are lunch breaks when I can play.... and at night in front of the TV when I am done with work for the day.... and when I go into the house to get a drink..... and when I am sitting in the car at a stop light... and when NO, I will NOT squeeze in more games. I will go and make my kit and clean the studio!!
But I am a little hungry right now and I think the IPad is laying on the dining room table. Maybe a quick game with lunch....
Karla, I love to play this game and I would LOVE to play you. However, after looking at your drawings, and then knowing what I've drawn, there is no way! (tee hee) Your drawings are even professional in this little game!!! What a talent you have!

Is it Snookie? I'll start playing that game with you, soon, if I can play on my iPhone! I don't have an iPad. (I have about six Scrabble games going at a time, and I often only have time to play when I'm sitting outside the school waiting to pick up Ben!)

I love this game too, our whole family plays it, it is super funny when the non-doodlers do their drawings and you try and figure them out.
I am sure all things Birdsong will fall into place and your students will be utterly enchanted. You are too hard on yourself, relax and enjoy!

You are so cute and so funny, and I know I would love you in person, Karla. Makes me wish I could go to Birdsong! If you do another one sometime, well, I will keep checking my map to see if just MAYBE Kansas has inched a little closer to Texas than I last remembered . . . . Actually, my hubby loves road trips. Did I mention loooooooooonnnngggg road trips? Me? Eh. Maaaaaybe someday, though, I could suggest a northward road trip, and then I could high-tail it over to Birdsong, and he and my son could occupy themselves doing other things . . . . 'Tis a thought!
We are kindred spirits at the moment in cleanin' and cleanin.' I am getting ready for out-of-town company, aaaand my craft room doubles as the guest room. You can imagine the overhaul that has to be done every time a "pesky" guest comes. Hee hee. Actually, I am really looking forward to these guests coming. ; )

Karla, you make my "drawsomething" drawings look like pre-k. I am completely intimidated. It is a fun game. And yes, I can always find a little bit of time to play that and Words with friends.
And I was so so sad to read about Agnes Rosebud. Those Yorkies offer so much love and All have different personalities. I know you and your family will miss her.
