These embellished eggs were handmade by someone who spent a lot of time on them, and used some very sparkly rhinestones. I came across a big boxful at an estate sale and thought I'd repaint them all for my own tree.
Originally, they were golden eggs.
So, I painted on some white chalk paint, and then wiped some off for a dimensional effect. I'd painted right over the rhinestones too, so I could get all the paint down in the crevices. With a wet cloth, I cleaned off the parts I wanted to remain golden or shiny.
After that, I added some fine, crystal glitter to brushed on school glue.
My intensions were to paint all of them, but as I started to spend time working on the project, I became fond of them as they were. So, some got a whitewash, some stayed golden. I've added a few to my own tree, and put the rest in the Boutique. If you'd like to paint your own, or enjoy them as is, you can find them there.
What else is new?
A darling angel, with a sweet face.
And over on Etsy, is her cousin.
(I combine postage and refund the excess when things are purchased from both shops)
As well as some vintage new stock bottle brush trees...
These kitschy characters...
More kitsch...
And a cute boot.
They are all so cute! I wouldn't have thought to paint the ornaments. Love the results.

It was more intricate than I expected the job to be, but I was glad I did paint some. Merry Christmas, Patty, I hope your season is a fun one!
